Mid-Level Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

WSP is a leading professional services firm focused on power delivery and energy transition. They are seeking a Mid-Level Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join their Power & Energy team, responsible for developing design documents and leading design efforts in instrumentation and controls for power generation projects.

Responsibilities

Development of instrumentation and control design documents for power generation projects
Lead and support Instrumentation & Controls design efforts on multi-discipline projects
Instrumentation design and selection
Instrumentation installation design
Control System wiring design
Control System logic design
Control system hardware design and configuration
Coordination with colleagues in other engineering disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Coordination with clients, equipment vendors, and contractors on projects
Field commissioning support on project start-up efforts
Ability to work independently and efficiently with little oversight
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
3+ years of Instrumentation and Controls experience
Engineer in Training Certification
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements

Preferred

Master's Degree in Engineering
Essential Professional Licensure
Previous experience leading a group of engineers is a plus
Experience with PLC hardware/software and configuration
Experience power generation processes or power plant control systems
Network and SCADA Design
Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Visio, Access, etc
