Postdoctoral Scholar - Ong Lab
The University of Oregon is home to the Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact, which aims to fast-track scientific discoveries into innovations. The Postdoctoral Scholar will conduct research on wireless sensor technologies for orthopedic care and regenerative medicine, while also mentoring junior trainees and managing lab equipment.

Responsibilities
Conducting research and technical activities related to sponsored projects in Dr. Ong’s lab
Conduct research related to the inductive-capacitive sensors used for monitoring suture tension during and after orthopedic surgeries
Conduct research related to magnetoelastic sensors for cell and tissue monitoring
Perform data analysis and collaborate on research projects
Report findings and discoveries in written and verbal form
Mentor junior trainees in the lab
Manage, maintain and provide technical expertise for lab equipment, protocols, and programs
Qualification
Required
PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, Human Physiology, Immunology, or other relevant fields
Effective communication skills
Organization and time management skills
Preferred
Experience in wireless sensor technologies such as RFID sensors, inductive-capacitive resonance sensors, or magnetoelastic sensors
Experience in wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy
Experience in electronic circuit design and fabrication and embedded programming
Experience in cell and tissue culture experiments
Experience in experiments with animal or human models
