The role involves maintaining and integrating various data science and application environments to enhance TSA's security capabilities.

Responsibilities
Independently install, customize and integrate commercial software packages
Support the administration of the hardware accelerated database appliance (e.g. IBM Integrated Analytics System)
Support the administration of the data science notebook environment (e.g. Zeppelin or JupyterLabs)
Support the administration of the ETL environment (e.g. IBM InfoSphere/Datastage, Informatica)
Support the administration of the visualization environment (e.g. Microsoft Power BI Server)
Support the administration of the R/Python environment to include the data science packages
Support the administration of the data science tools on the desktops (e.g. Programming IDEs, SQL editors, desktop clients for the tools above)
Integrate the data science applications with the program infrastructure
Respond to reported incidents for the data science environment and update the reported incidents in the ticketing systems
Ensure regular application maintenance is performed and conduct post maintenance testing to ensure applications are working correctly – includes planning, coordination, communication activities
Respond to security tickets for the data science applications and ensure security ticket response is tracked via stories in RTC
Facilitate root cause analysis of system issues
Identify areas to improve system performance and availability
Support the optimization of the data science application environment
Complete security tickets by gathering evidence/artifacts, submitting evidence to the program security department, and closing the associated RTC stories
Collaborate with user community of the data science environment to assist with environment usage, identify improvements that can submitted to the program backlog
Qualification
Required
10+ years experience and a Masters degree
Experience with environments and tools listed below:
Hardware accelerated database appliances
Administration experience with IBM Integrated Analytics System, IBM Netezza or similar product
Expertise with query troubleshooting and optimization to include analyzing optimization plans, debug stored procedures, and analyzing table structures
Skills in connection troubleshooting for connections to a database or database appliance
Notebook environment
Administration experience with Apache Zeppelin or JupyterLabs or similar web based, notebook collaboration environment
Skills in setting up connections and interpreters to local file systems, external file systems, external databases, and to programming languages such as Java, SQL, Python, R
Experience with performance troubleshooting of R, Python code in a notebook or data science toolkit environment
ETL Environment
Administration experience with IBM DataStage, Informatica or similar ETL tools
Experience with performance troubleshooting of ETL issues
Familiarity with web application support for the ETL tools
Visualization environment
Administration experience with Microsoft Power BI Report server or similar business intelligence tool
Experience with performance troubleshooting the reporting infrastructure
Familiarity with web application support and desktop support for visualization tools
R/Python environment
Experience with package maintenance and dependency checks for languages such as R and Python
Experience with deploying packages to Windows desktops, Windows Servers, and RHEL servers from external sources such as Pypi.org and cran
Experience with resolving dependency issues for languages such as R and Python
Desktop tools
Experience with upgrading and removing desktop tools in a Windows desktop environment
Certificate maintenance
Experience with updating server and application certificate key stores in a RHEL or similar environment
Experience with troubleshooting certificate issues to include verifying what certificates were deployed
Preferred
Experience with TSA systems and environment
Security+ Certification or equivalent cybersecurity certification
ITIL Certification or equivalent
