Responsibilities

Greet patients entering the physician practice

Answer office phones, schedule appointments, confirm appointments, and reschedule as necessary

Check in patients, collect accurate patient demographics, enter data into the electronic system, and verify insurance information

Assist in checking out patients, including processing referrals and scheduling follow-up appointments

Collect co-pays and post charges

Handle charge entry and patient balance processing

Distribute information to patients regarding office policies, procedures, and general information about the practice

Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal

Perform Additional Responsibilities As Needed

Qualification

Customer serviceMedical office experienceHealthcare management certificationData entryCommunication skills

Required

High school diploma/GED required

Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service required

Strong customer service skills

Preferred

Completion of a medical office assistant program preferred
