Senior Project or Associate Engineer
Terraphase Engineering is an environmental consulting company seeking a Senior Project or Associate Engineer to join their team in Oakland or Pleasanton, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineering deliverables and overseeing various investigation and design projects, ensuring high-quality outputs and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Serve as Project Manager for a variety of environmental and civil engineering projects, especially site investigation and remediation projects, including the use of financial and project management software (primarily Ajera and Asana)
Primary or contributing author of project deliverables such as, Remedial Investigation / Feasibility Studies (RI/FS), Remedial Action Plans (RAW/RAPs)
Project completion reports, Basis of Design Reports, and Requests for Proposals for environmental remediation and civil infrastructure projects
Prepare/oversee high quality technical civil engineering and stormwater design analyses and documents for stormwater conveyance, storage, and treatment systems
Manage/develop engineering drawings and technical specifications for remedial, stormwater, and civil construction projects to ensure adherence to established standards
Work with internal teams (CAD, GIS, database staff) to develop high-quality plans and figures
Coordinate field activities and oversee project field implementation at complex sites
Develop project scopes, budgets, health & safety plans; issue subcontractor agreements; manage project financial metrics; and lead execution of project tasks
Significantly contribute to regulatory interactions and act as a key point of contact with clients and agencies
Provide hands-on mentorship and oversight to junior technical staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering
Minimum 7 years of environmental/engineering consulting experience
California Civil Engineering PE
Proven experience with one or more of the following: Remedial investigation and design of mitigation or remediation systems (VIMS, SVE, air sparge, in-situ enhanced bioremediation, or in-situ chemical oxidation, etc.)
Design of stormwater conveyance and management infrastructure
Site grading and development design
Implementation of environmental remediation or civil infrastructure projects in the field, including construction oversight/management
Strong health and safety awareness and culture
Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Comfortable with regulator interaction and client conversations early in the project process
Strong understanding of consulting industry
Experienced in project financial management with project budgets of $200,000 or more
Contribution to competitive proposal packages and/or experience in business development activities
Active in technical community (e.g., presenting at and attending conferences)
Staff supervision
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER
Preferred
Master's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D or ArcGIS
