Responsibilities

Receives and accurately processes surgical or diagnostic tissue specimens from various departments and physician offices
Accurately prepares histological slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a pathologist
Identifies, prepares, cuts, stains and preserves specimens in such a manner as to assist the pathologist in rendering a reliable diagnosis
Maintains Pathology laboratory equipment and supplies, and monitors daily quality control
Performs and maintains accurate files
Prepares for and attends tumor board meetings
Observes safety regulations
