PRN RAD/CT TECH
WVU Medicine is a healthcare provider that is seeking a PRN RAD/CT TECH. The role involves performing radiographic and CT procedures independently while ensuring quality images for diagnosis, as well as participating in the training and evaluation of student radiographers.

Responsibilities
Participates in documentation and evaluation of clinical performance of student radiographers
Perform Daily QA procedures on all equipment
Completes appropriate documentation for every procedure when appropriate either on paper or in the computer system
Employs appropriate safety techniques for all patients and associates
Utilize all communication devices as necessary to perform appropriate patient care
Perform IV insertion/blood draw
Perform diagnostic X-ray and CT exams and ordered by the physician/care provider and in accordance with the radiologist protocols
Assist the radiologist with CT guided and x-ray guided interventional procedures
Administer IV/Oral/Rectal contrast for imaging procedures per radiologist protocol and ordering physician/care provider order
Utilize 3D Vitrea workstation per radiologist protocol and ordering physician/care provider request
Utilize PACS to ensure exams are completed and available for the radiologist to read and for the referring physician/care provider to review
Ability to enter correct information (patient name, accession number, patient ID, etc.) manually and from modality worklist
Ability to send studies to PACS from modality
Ability to log in and log out of PACS
Ability to review prior studies, reports, and study lists in PACS
Ability to use Patient Merge functions
Ability to enter correct information (patient name, accession number, patient ID, etc.) manually and from modality worklist in the PRID workstation and the Digital Radiography equipment
Ability to send images from PACS to Ruby Memorial
Demonstrates proficiency with regards to use of the following according to equipment manuals: CT Scanners, Pressure Injector, Accuvein
Perform IV insertion /blood draws, including performing 1-stat creatinine tests and documenting results appropriately
Qualification
Required
Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the NMTCB for West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland locations
Radiologist Technologist through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners, or applicable state where services will be performed
Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date for West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland locations
Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the NMTCB for Pennsylvania locations
Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date for Pennsylvania locations
Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and feeling are necessary body movements utilized in performing duties throughout the work shift
Must be able to lift, move, and position patients of all weights, with varying amounts of assistance in a fair manner on a regular and recurring basis; exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Hearing and visual acuity must be within normal range
Must be able to read and write legibly in English
Must have the ability to perform concentrated and complex mental activity with frequent involvement in complex and highly technical situations
Must have the ability to work successfully under highly stressful conditions and must be capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis
Must have the ability to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific principles, and also be able to collaborate with other multi-disciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion
Must have the ability to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures
Must have effective reading and comprehension skills
Must have basic math and algebra skills to calculate radiation exposure factors
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and all shifts
Preferred
CT Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Two (2) year's experience in Radiology or CT
