GovDash is seeking a backend-leaning software engineer to join the Capture Cloud Team, focusing on enhancing their Bid Match opportunity search and recommendation engine. The role involves building and maintaining backend services, integrating government data sources, and refining recommendation logic.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain backend services that power Bid Match, with a focus on scalability and reliability
Scrape, ingest, and integrate new government data sources into our platform
Refine and tune our recommendation engine to maximize accuracy and relevance
Develop tools to normalize, sanitize, and manage large volumes of government data
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and deliver data-driven features

Required

Strong backend development skills in TypeScript/Node.js
Experience with web scraping and data integration
Comfort working with large, messy, real-world datasets
Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
2+ years of professional work experience
Experience building a large-scale platform for web and mobile apps
Strong CS knowledge
You care about product ownership and solving problems for our customers
You're passionate about being in a product-focused environment where everyone cares deeply about customer impact
Care about America and her interests (non-negotiable)

Preferred

Interest in recommendation systems or data science (bonus points)
Knowledge of government contracting data or other public-sector data sources (bonus points)
Bonus points if you've previously worked with large language models
