Responsibilities
Preparing comprehensive construction drawings, including site layouts, grading and drainage designs, and reinforced concrete structural details
Generating a variety of engineering calculation reports, such as concrete and utility design, geotechnical evaluations, slope stability, and water resource analyses
Developing technical specifications and bid documents for large-scale heavy civil construction projects, typically exceeding $10 million in budget
Creating project-specific procedures to support construction process control
Reviewing shop drawings and vendor documentation for compliance
Providing ongoing support for active construction projects
Occasional travel (approximately 20%) to job sites for short durations
Qualification
Required
0-5 years of experience required
Familiarity with applicable civil codes and standards (e.g. ACI/ASTM/AASHTO)
Familiarity with AutoCad and similar Computer Drafting/Design Programs
Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis
BS degree in Civil Engineering (MS degrees given strong consideration)
Preferred
5-10 years of experience preferred
Nuclear Industry Experience preferred, but not required
FE/EIT/PE Certification preferred but not required
