Coherent Corp. is a global leader in lasers, engineered materials and networking components, and they are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide data and software solutions for semiconductor manufacturing. The role focuses on implementing and supporting the manufacturing execution system (MES) across all Coherent sites.

Responsibilities

Solution design and implementation of the Siemens Opcenter Ex Semiconductor suite, with an emphasis on the metadata (Designer Studio) and the underlying SQL database

Serve as source-data expert for data applications interfacing with MES

Support manufacturing process change management in the context of MES

Support integration between MES and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms

Participate in general data pipeline software development

Required

A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, physics, materials science, mathematics, or similar STEM field

5 years' experience working with Siemens OpCenter Ex Semiconductor suite or its predecessors such as Camstar

Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)

Expertise in Siemens OpCenter Ex Semiconductor suite or its predecessors such as Camstar, especially with the Designer Studio and the underlying SQL database

Thorough understanding of key manufacturing KPIs, such as yield, throughput, and cycle time

Expertise in at least two of the following programming languages: Python, Java, C++, C#, Scala, OCaml, Go, Rust

Best practices in collaborative software development: version control, flowcharts, documentation, and clear code comments

Sound understanding of fundamental computer science: algorithms, data structures, and programming paradigms

Ability to learn new concepts and skills fast

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to align technical strategies to business objectives
