Principal Optical Module Failure Analysis Engineer

The Principal Optical Module Failure Analysis Engineer will perform in-depth failure analysis on optical modules, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure timely resolutions for customer returns and internal failures.

Responsibilities
Perform in-depth failure analysis (FA) on optical modules returned by customers or flagged internally
Debug optical, mechanical, and electrical aspects of optical modules
Use schematics, test equipment, switches, and fault isolation tools to identify root causes
Lead cross-functional investigations and prepare customer-facing 8D reports
Ensure timely FA turnaround for both internal stakeholders and external customers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 10-15 years of related professional experience
Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 5-10 years of experience
Strong understanding of optical module design and testing methodologies
Proficient in 8D problem-solving methodology
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Preferred
Hands-on experience debugging optical modules from component to application level
Experience reviewing PCB layouts and schematics
Strong communication and leadership skills
Background in physical failure analysis and working with external vendors or labs
