Responsibilities
Understand the state of the art in AI or biology and move forward at least one of those fields
Contribute to executing the research roadmap for the company, including large-scale pretraining of foundation models, fine-tuning foundation models for impactful applications in biology, applying AI models in workflows solving applied problems in biology, etc
Drive the research for a portion of the company’s cutting-edge foundation model efforts and lead projects in that area
Implement software for research initiatives
Collaborate with other researchers and engineers
Engage the wider scientific community through impactful publications and open-source releases
Qualification
Required
Understand the state of the art in AI or biology and move forward at least one of those fields
Contribute to executing the research roadmap for the company, including large-scale pretraining of foundation models, fine-tuning foundation models for impactful applications in biology, applying AI models in workflows solving applied problems in biology, etc
Drive the research for a portion of the company's cutting-edge foundation model efforts and lead projects in that area

Preferred
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python
M.Sc. in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience implementing models with pytorch or equivalent tools
Ability to plan and run ML experiments, analyze and communicate outcomes
