Responsibilities
Design & Engineering:
Single-line diagrams
Control logic for new generators and retrofitting existing ones. This includes selecting and applying protective relays and other equipment
Develop protection schemes for generators, including differential, overcurrent, and distance protection
Configure protective relays and associated control systems
Perform fault analysis and power system studies using simulation tools
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure systems comply with NEC, IEEE, IEC, and other relevant standards
Maintain detailed documentation of protection settings, test results, and system configurations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in power system protection, specifically generator protection
Proficiency in protection software tools (ETAP, PSCAD etc.)
Familiarity with protective relays (Siemens, ABB etc.)
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus
