Responsibilities
Leads the technical execution of projects within his/her discipline
Provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering
Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
Provides guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff
Provides technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.)
Resolves highly complex technical issues
Continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems
Recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures
Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required
Professional Engineer License (PE) required
Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience is required
Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline(s) with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
Understands QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment; proven ability to lead a team
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
Proficiency with MS Office software required
Preferred
Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) experience is a plus
Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
