Special Education Academic Coach I
High Tech High is an integrated network of charter schools in San Diego County, California, dedicated to equity and personalized education. They are seeking a Special Education Academic Coach I to assist students with diverse needs in accessing the general education curriculum and to provide individualized support in the classroom.

Responsibilities
Assist teachers by working with individual students on a one-to-one basis
1:1 duties include but are not limited to Toileting
Attending to student health and safety needs
Implementation of a behavior intervention
Assist with the instruction and supervision of students who may have learning differences
Assist with tutorial activities working with an individual or group of students who may have learning differences
Monitor student progress and provide input for evaluation and parent conference upon request
Establish rapport and meaningful relationships with referred students to assist in improving their behavior, educational performance, and social relationships
Perform clerical support duties including typing, completing documents, forms, record, correspondence; which may include note taking for students
Qualification
Required
High School diploma/GED
An Associate's degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university or Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading (or readiness), writing (or readiness), and mathematics (or readiness)
Experience in a school/learning environment
Ability to build relationships
Communication, both written and oral
Ability to evaluate alternatives
Interpersonal skills
Ability to listen and motivate
Teamwork
Ability to create plans and goal set
Preferred
Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis strategies
Experience with student medical needs
