Associate or Full Professor of Energy and Mineral Engineering
Penn State University is inviting applications for a tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the area of Subsurface Energy Science and Engineering. The successful candidate will lead research addressing critical challenges in energy exploration, production, storage, and environmental impacts, while contributing to the department's mission and mentoring students.

Contribute to the mission of leading research in different energy disciplines
Address critical challenges in the exploration, production, storage, and environmental impacts of energy and decarbonization systems in the subsurface
Engage effectively across EME’s core interdisciplinary research areas
Lead interdisciplinary research initiatives
Teach courses across EME undergraduate and graduate programs aligned with the candidate’s expertise
Mentor graduate students and demonstrate collaborative leadership
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. degree in a discipline related to their research area
Sustained record of securing external research funding
Strong portfolio of high-impact scholarship that strengthens EME's Subsurface Energy Engineering core research area
Proven success in graduate student mentorship and collaborative leadership
Deep expertise in flow through porous media
Demonstrated interest in and ability to teach courses across EME undergraduate and graduate programs aligned with the candidate's expertise
Ability to lead interdisciplinary research initiatives
Engage effectively across EME's core interdisciplinary research areas
Significant contributions to the department's leadership in energy systems
For the rank of Professor: internationally recognized research program in the relevant field
