Water/WW Project Engineer

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater Team in Wilmington, DE or Bethlehem, PA. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in delivering sustainable water and wastewater systems that enhance public health and environmental quality.

Responsibilities

Oversee every phase of water/wastewater projects, from planning to design and implementation, ensuring quality and efficiency at every step
Build and nurture client partnerships, understanding their needs and delivering creative, cost-effective solutions
Manage contracts, purchase orders, project documentation, and daily correspondence with clients and subcontractors
Take charge of project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash management, while ensuring timely payments and accurate reporting
Lead monthly project review meetings, communicating progress and updates to clients, management, and project teams
Develop and implement health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
Embrace a “seller/doer” mindset, actively developing new business opportunities and expanding services provided

Professional Engineer (PE) licenseEngineering software proficiencyProject management experienceCivil Engineering degreeQA/QC procedures knowledgeProject accounting skillsClient relationship managementArticulate communicatorConsulting industry experienceParticipation in engineering societiesMS Office proficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience
Minimum of 4 years of project management experience required
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices
Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
Strong skills in project accounting, budgeting, and financial management
Proven ability to prepare proposals, project plans, authorizations, and closeout documents
Experience interpreting client contracts and managing multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated success in managing client relationships
Articulate communicator who adapts messaging for diverse audiences
Proficiency in MS Office required
Ability to travel as needed

Preferred

Master's degree preferred
Knowledge of Deltek Vision, MS Project, or Primavera P6 is a plus
Consulting industry experience highly preferred
Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred
