Lead Civil Engineer, Transportation Design
TYLin is a globally recognized infrastructure consulting firm dedicated to innovative designs for the global infrastructure market. They are seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to oversee the design and delivery of utility, land development, and stormwater systems for transportation and transit facilities, while mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering components for transportation and transit projects, with a strong focus on utilities, site development, grading, and stormwater management systems
Serve as the technical authority on project design decisions, ensuring quality, innovation, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations
Utilize AutoCAD and MicroStation to produce and review detailed engineering drawings, models, and plans
Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration between engineers, designers, and external stakeholders
Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, providing technical training, performance feedback, and career development support
Support business development by contributing to proposals, client presentations, and project planning
Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of technical excellence
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois or ability to obtain Illinois licensure through reciprocity within 6 months of hire
Minimum 15 years of progressive career experience in civil engineering, with a strong portfolio of utility, grading, and stormwater designs for transportation or transit projects
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation is required
Proven track record of leading technical teams and mentoring emerging professionals
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams
Preferred
Master's degree in Civil Engineering
