Construction/Field Engineer - Rail & Transit

The Construction Engineer will support construction management projects in the NY metro area, assisting with project administration, coordination of construction work, and review of construction documents.

Responsibilities
Coordinating and working with inspectors for field reviews, data collection and analysis, studies and forecasting
Verify construction documents to field conditions
Conduct in-depth research to develop recommendations for approaches, concepts, materials and equipment selection
Collect and manage data for engineering or construction work such as to perform quantity take-offs for development of engineering estimate
Assure that drawings, calculations and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards and strengths, follow Quality Assurance and Control procedures
Prepare project data for schedules, assist in preparing schedules and budgets in order to monitor progress reports
Assist in change orders negotiations with contractors
Review contractor invoicing to verify quantities and enter contractor invoices into Client’s online system
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
2+ years of construction (office) engineer experience
Previous infrastructure construction experience with NYCT or similar rail agency
Requires knowledge of engineering principles and industry standards
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Experience coordinating with multiple contractors and trades at one time in the field
Knowledge of meeting construction schedules and budgets

Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence
Preferred
BS in Civil Engineering or related field
