Responsibilities

Prepare, modify, and review scantling and outfitting drawings and analyses against applicable class society and regulatory rules

Perform detail design/drafting of marine craft structures, plans and outfitting for new shipbuilding and repair/conversion

Perform general structural calculations using the 1st principal methods and/or finite element analysis

Review of construction packages and 3D model created by 3D design software such as FORAN or Ship Constructor, against the approved design package

Learn to be able to interpret regulatory and classification society rules

Perform heavy lift calculations

Perform stability calculations and checks

Learn to use software such as GHS, Flow 3D, femap/Nastran and any other new software the company may decide to use

Providing solutions to complex structural and shipbuilding problems that arise daily in production, working in conjunction with other senior team members

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
