HR Compliance Specialist-Substitute

Responsibilities

Independently facilitates timely, thorough, and good faith interactive processes for employees and applicants with disabilities
Independently drafting and analyzing medical questionnaires to assist the District in ensuring that appropriate information is available related to an employee/applicant’s functional limitations
Counseling individuals with disabilities and District managers related to their rights, responsibilities, and the legal framework supporting the interactive process and reasonable accommodations
Working with employees, medical providers, and third-party consultants to obtain appropriate and clear documentation from medical professionals
Analyze essential job functions against functional limitations (as provided by medical professionals) to assist in the identification of job impacts and for the purpose of exploring reasonable accommodations
Acting as a neutral facilitator and resource to employees, applicants, and the District by ensuring an open, thorough, and good faith exchange of ideas and information is explored during interactive processes
Maintaining highly organized, detailed, and accurate records and documentation related to interactive processes
Works within human resources, risk management, benefits, and payroll functions to coordinate and monitor communications, services, timelines, and benefits for compliance with ADA, FEHA, local policies, and individual reasonable accommodation plans

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with major course content in human resources, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field
Two years of experience in human resources and/or in the interpretation and application of disability regulations (i.e. ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, FLMA, FEHA), collective bargaining agreements, and/or other laws governing disability, discrimination
May require a valid driver license
