Responsibilities

Analyze and underwrite mortgage loan applications to ensure adherence to company and investor guidelines
Issue loan decisions (approvals, suspensions, and declines) based on a comprehensive review of borrower credit, income, and assets
Manage a loan pipeline, maintaining efficiency and compliance with turn-time expectations
Condition loans to meet program requirements while collaborating with internal teams for smooth processing
Work across multiple business divisions, underwriting Non-QM, Jumbo, FHA/VA, and DSCR loans
Maintain compliance with all regulatory and company policies

Qualification

Mortgage underwriting experienceManual underwriting knowledgeNon-QM lending expertiseWholesale lending experienceFraud detection experienceCommunication skills

Required

2+ years of mortgage underwriting experience, with a preference for Non-QM or Jumbo lending
Strong knowledge of manual underwriting—AUS experience alone is not sufficient
Excellent communication skills to work effectively with account managers and internal teams
Fraud detection experience is a plus
Not a fit for underwriters coming solely from large banks, as our approach requires hands-on, manual underwriting expertise

Preferred

Wholesale or correspondent lending experience preferred
