Responsibilities
Partner with the Technology Development team and vendors to design solutions for the network functions in a cloud native environment related to roaming services
Deploy and support core network functions across a cutting-edge cloud native standalone 5G network
Partner with vendor personnel at Nokia, BICS and roaming partners to set up roaming services, features, and upgrades
Participate and lead discussions in the investigation of innovative 5G technologies to improve the network virtualization infrastructure
Perform hands-on 5G Core nodes and roaming call flows related to S8HR, N9HR, N26 and N14
Lead and mentor engineers within the team to provide technical guidance and knowledge of the networks in various functional areas
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field
10 years of Wireless industry experience in Job offered, Roaming Engineering, Operational role, Manager of Core Service Solutions, or similar roles
5 years of work experience with/using the following: Implementing, integrating, and deploying solutions related to one of the following: S6a, S8c, or S8u
Atoll, Rohde and Schwarz scanners
Roaming Technologies & Network Design
Principles/Implementation including S8HR & N26
Technical Customer Care Organizations within the Operator/Partners
DRA, DEA, HSS, S/PGW, MME, AMF, SMF & UPFs
4G/5G core network design and implementation
Troubleshooting SS7, Diameter and IP traffic
SMF / UPF / AMF / DRA / DEA / HSS
Cloud Native environment, with technologies such as AWS/GCP/Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, OpenStack, VMWare, KVM or EKS
Kubernetes, Docker or AWS/GCP/Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
4G/5G/IMS / LTE
TCP/IP networking and TCP, UDP, SCTP, GTP, RADIUS, Mobile IP, SIP, and Diameter protocols
Python scripting or any other scripting language such as Bash or Tcl
Protocol Analysis, Wireshark, NetScout, RADCOM or other similar tools
