Telecommunications

Responsibilities

Support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects
Learn and train alongside an experienced Foreperson/Linemen to install and maintain telecommunications equipment
Perform general labor duties related to telecommunications construction as directed by the Foreman/Supervisor
Services may include placing poles, anchors and guys, aerial strand and cable, burying conduit, trenching cable, conventional and directional boring, placing underground conduit systems, and performing inside wiring or cabling

Required

High School Diploma is required for the role
Able to perform all duties in telecommunication construction
Possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc
Willing and able to work in all weather conditions
Travel may be occasionally required
Attend all required safety training classes (Inclusive of, but not limited to, Work Aloft, Traffic Control, Safe Digging Practices, Confined Spaces)
Must be able to lift, reach, dig, and carry heavy objects with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and infrequent lifting of up to 100 pounds with assistance
Must be reliable, and able to show up on time or early
Due to the nature of fieldwork, this position may require overtime, working on weekends, and holidays, and the possibility of being called in during off-hours

Preferred

2 years of Construction experience is Preferred
Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunication industry, is preferred
Previous experience operating or working around heavy equipment and machinery is preferred
The ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus
Read and understand the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and construction guidelines
