The Senior Reserving Actuary will support the planning and execution of Odyssey’s Reserving Strategy globally, improve the Reserving Process, and provide input on various financial processes.

Responsibilities

Support the planning and execution of Odyssey’s Reserving Strategy across the Odyssey Group Companies globally; Odyssey Re, Hudson, Newline

Improve the Reserving Process for Odyssey Global Reserving by partnering with various global actuarial leaders to design and develop new ways to review reserves

Review (re)insurance transactions from an actuarial, capital, solvency, and profitability standpoint

Understand all underlying factors that contribute to Company performance

Provide support and input on the Annual Statement Process, Schedule P, and Quarter Close Process and IFRS 17 for Odyssey Group

Qualification

Required

A Fellow of a relevant Actuarial Society

A Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field

15 years overall work experience

Minimum of 10 years of relevant actuarial experience

5 years' supervisory experience

Strong technical and analytical skills, including experience of using quantitative risk models

Leadership and managerial proficiencies, with the ability to influence both direct and matrixed reporting relationships

Good problem solver with the ability to understand business drivers and needs and be able to balance desired outcomes against potential risks and challenges

Familiarity with the use of 'R' in analytics
