Principle Test Stand Engineer

Bell Flight is seeking a Principle Test Stand Engineer to support manufacturing operations at their Drive Systems Center in Grand Prairie, Texas. The Test Stand Engineer is responsible for designing and supporting complex production test stands and serves as a technical resource to operators while ensuring compliance with industry specifications.

Responsibilities

Develop test stand concepts based on defined testing parameters and specimen configuration, compiling estimates for the construction of the test stand, manage test stand build and track project schedules
Develop upgrades for legacy test stands to improve reliability, maintainability, and operation use
Participate in a cross functional team environment completing a variety of objectives depending on the program lifecycle assigned
Able to develop scope of work, resource estimates, progress metrics, and communication cadence for overall project management to meet objectives
Create detailed maintenance and operating procedures for the Production Test Stands and train key Production Operators how to operate the Production Test Stands
Diagnose run time errors, failures, and issues that may occur during a run, and determining repairs needed to maintain operation of the Test Stands

Required

Bachelor's Degree is required with preference in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
Minimum of 10+ years experience in Mechanical or Aerospace Design, Controls Engineering, Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and ability to articulate technical data and concepts to a wide audience of individuals of different technical backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a variety of activities and tasks while dealing with change
Exhibits a disciplined approach in initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing tasks to achieve specific goals to specific success criteria
Proficiency with basic office computer software, specifically the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred

Previous experience using, troubleshooting, and programming PLC, HMI, and data acquisition systems
Previous experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic system faults or issues
Previous experience with reading/interpreting electrical schematics
Willingness to have a “hands-on” approach to solving problems
