Legal Assistant

LHH is partnering with a respected litigation firm in Edwardsville to find a skilled Legal Assistant who thrives in a dynamic legal environment. This hybrid role involves supporting attorneys in all phases of litigation and managing case files while offering the flexibility of remote work.

Human Resources

Responsibilities

Support attorneys in all phases of litigation, including drafting and proofreading legal documents (pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery)
Manage electronic filing with Illinois state and federal courts
Maintain organized case files and document management systems
Coordinate attorney calendars, schedule depositions, and manage deadlines
Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel
Assist with trial preparation, including assembling exhibits and trial binders

Required

Minimum 2 years of experience in a litigation support role
Strong knowledge of Illinois court procedures and e-filing platforms
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred

Associate's degree or paralegal certificate
Experience supporting multiple attorneys or working in a high-volume litigation practice
