NEOGOV is seeking an Executive Director for the Wenatchee Valley College Foundation. The Executive Director will lead fund development programs, manage foundation operations, and cultivate relationships to support college goals and priorities.

Responsibilities

Represent the WVC Foundation at meetings, conferences, and programs with other foundations and organizations on the local, state, regional, and national levels that will benefit the college and the foundation.Establish and maintain strong relationships with all constituents
Identify, cultivate, and solicit individuals, corporations, and foundations for annual and long term financial support of the foundation and the college
Supervise, direct, and evaluate the performance of the foundation staff
Provide expertise, strategy and direction to the fundraising efforts and activities of college programs and departments for annual giving, major gifts, special campaigns and capital efforts
Lead the foundation in developing and implementing fundraising programs, activities and events in support of college priorities. These include annual giving campaigns, fund raising events, major gifts, capital campaigns, alumni development, planned giving, and corporate gifts and grants
Serve as the chief development officer for the college; works with departments and programs on campus who are seeking funds
Assist the foundation board of directors in developing both long range and short term planning to address new and recurring issues and decisions; conduct feasibility studies and needs assessments
Ensure the proper development, implementation, and monitoring of the accounting, financial and payroll records of the foundation; timely deposit of funds; preparation of monthly and quarterly financial and investment reports for the foundation board; preparation of billings submitted to college, state, individuals, businesses and others, and preparation of invoices for payment approval by the foundation board; preparation and submittal of all state and federal reports
Oversee the annual allocation of scholarship funding
Oversee investment performance to achieve optimum investment results while working with the budget and finance committee
Recruit and provide leadership, service and motivation to the foundation board
Assist in raising the visibility and understanding of the foundation and the college to internal and external audiences and prospective donors. Work with the president and the community relations office to strengthen and maintain a positive college image in the community and with community members
Coordinate professional development opportunities for college foundation board members and staff to increase their understanding and effective participation in foundation activities
Oversee the WVC Alumni Association for the purpose of communicating with, engaging and cultivating participation in college activities, charitable giving, mentoring and building a sense of pride in the institution
Maintain and promote effective working relationships with other community non-profit organizations
Participate in community events which may be advantageous to the foundation and to the college
Oversee the development, preparation and distribution of agendas, minutes and other board and committee reports
Ensure the maintenance of current and archive files on all foundation business records
Ensure the development and maintenance of historical files and mailing lists of donors, other support persons, business and agencies
Represent the WVC Foundation at meetings, conferences, and programs with other foundations and organizations on the local, state, regional, and national levels that will benefit the college and the foundation

Required

Bachelor's or higher degree in business or related field
Three years' experience in fund development and foundation management or budget management and revenue generation
Knowledge of best practices in advancement services and operations
Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
Knowledge of fundraising software (Virtuous and Financial Edge preferred)
Experience with a volunteer board
Demonstrated ability in managing and motivating staff
Commitment to community college education
Excellent speaking and writing skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a wide variety of people
Strong organizational, supervisory, analytical and decision-making skills
Ability to analyze information for reports and to organize data into effective and meaningful oral and written presentations
Strong planning, organizational and project management skills and ability to lead multiple projects concurrently
Or, if you do not meet one or more of qualifications listed above but have an applicable combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position

Preferred

Master's degree in business or related field
Successful major gifts fundraising experience
Capital campaign experience
Knowledge of best practices in alumni association management
Knowledge of tax laws governing recording and acknowledging of contributions, financial processing, accounting and reporting techniques
Experience creating digital content (such as Word/PDF documents and web and learning management system content as appropriate to the role) in accessible formats
Bilingual in Spanish and English
