Responsibilities
Drives clinical cost reduction and better patient outcomes as the Clinical Champion of Connecticut Children's Value Analysis Program
Organizes and manages all Value Analysis Committees at CT Children's
Assesses relevant financial, clinical, operational, and evidence-based literature and appropriately assists in selecting, evaluating, monitoring, analyzing, and implementing cost-effective products, services, and processes
Serves as an information resource by providing data/information related to Value Analysis by investigating new or alternative products/services based on observations, product issues, high costs, requests from user groups, suppliers, Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) peer groups, or as assigned by Supply Chain Administration
Coordinates clinical evaluation trial activity with clinical partners. Completes Evidence-Based research by reviewing and analyzing appropriate sources of product and vendor information. Ensures criteria for measurement of clinical efficacy and outcomes have been established for each evaluation
Responsible for taking decisions from Value Analysis Committee(s) and facilitating the official "Roll-Out" of those decisions (new products, product conversions, standardization actions, etc.). Ensures projects are driven to completion
Tracks all decisions and cost savings/spend associated with decisions with a tracking tool
Maintains Policies and Procedures related to Product Evaluation/Value Analysis (PEVA)
Keeps current on technology, regulatory, and operational trends in the health care industry, which may impact product utilization
Helps to identify appropriate product substitutions when needed (shortages, etc.)
Other duties as assigned

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
3-5 years related experience in a pediatric facility
Must have the ability to review/analyze data to drive decision-making, including using appropriate tools (Microsoft Excel, Word, etc)
Strong analytical skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
The current professional nursing license in CT
Preferred
Operating Room Experience or Critical Care nursing experience preferred
Extremely organized and detail-oriented
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Critical thinking, Analytical Skills, problem-solving acumen and a high-level self-motivation and ownership
Able to plan and think strategically
Values diversity and team work
