Traffic Signals Tech I-III
The City of Aurora is looking for dedicated individuals to join their team as Traffic Signals Technicians. This role involves maintaining the city's traffic control system, making repairs, and assisting with installations to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Responsibilities
Operates or uses a variety of tools and equipment related to traffic control maintenance function
Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and makes minor repairs of traffic control equipment
Coordinates and schedules routine maintenance activities
Assists in performing skilled maintenance and construction tasks including the installation and testing of traffic signal control equipment
Operates diagnostic equipment
Maintains various records such as equipment, time, supplies, and parts inventory
Assists in training other employees in routine maintenance tasks
Assists other maintenance groups (such as signs and markings and streets) as needed
May act as lead worker
Performs additional duties as required
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's License
Knowledge of practices and techniques of traffic maintenance functions desired
Applicable safety practices and procedures
Use of tools, specialized equipment, methods, and safety practices common to assigned maintenance function
Proficiency in operating aerial lift equipment
Ability to inspect and make minor repairs to traffic signal equipment
Perform manual labor for extended periods of time, outside and in all weather conditions
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees
Understand oral and written instructions
Operate or receive training on various types of maintenance and construction equipment
Work overtime and call back duty
Train and instruct other employees
Keep and maintain accurate records
Organize and schedule tools, materials, and equipment to accomplish tasks
Supportive team player with a positive attitude and ability to adapt to change
Strong commitment to safety
Preferred
IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Certification
Must obtain RTD On-Track Safety Training Certification within six (6) months of employment in the position
Must obtain ATSSA safety certificate within six (6) months of employment in the position
IMSA Traffic Signal Level I Certification
IMSA Traffic Signal Level II Certification
