Student Radiologic Technologist

Bryan Health is seeking a Student Radiologic Technologist who will perform diagnostic x-ray procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. The role involves using x-ray technology to assist in diagnosing patient medical problems while ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values
Performs all types of diagnostic x-ray procedures to include radiography of chest, extremities, skull and sinus, spine, ankle and foot, and abdomen. Practices radiation safety for patients, staff, and self
Uses sterile technique as required
Optimally demonstrates patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors
Competently operates all diagnostic x-ray equipment and support systems to include, EMR, PACS and teleradiology
Utilizes department computer systems, files, EMR and PACS to review patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies
Properly cares for and images patients of all ages and maintains patient confidentiality
Coordinates exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care; communicates with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families, and other hospital staff to assure quality patient care
Handles telephone calls for scheduling, coordination, or questions with courtesy and accuracy
Participates in the department’s quality improvement plan as assigned
Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment as necessary; notifies supervisor of equipment problems
Keeps work area properly supplied
Accesses and administers drugs and biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures

Required

Currently enrolled in an accredited school of radiologic technology required
Valid Temporary State Medical Radiographer license required
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
