Nuclear Oversight Auditor - Supplier Quality

Responsibilities

Conduct internal or external audits and surveillances of QA program implementation. Assignments can include participating or leading compliance based audits (audit group) or being assigned a functional area, which requires grading the performance of line departments (monitoring group)
Clearly communicates with the audited organization to ensure the assessment results are well understood
Initiates corrective action documents and verifies effectiveness of actions taken. If necessary, escalates issues or provides Stop Work recommendations
Supplier Quality or NEI responsibilities, if assigned, include maintaining Qualified Suppliers List, performance of annual evaluations, and industry participation on vendor audits, surveys, or surveillances
Prepares and reviews new and revised NOS procedures or instructions as assigned
Leads complex internal or external audits or assessments to verify Quality Assurance Program content and implementation. This includes ensuring timely and successful completion of an intrusive and value-added audit or assessment
Provide input to NOS Supervision on scheduling of audits or assessments. In addition, ensures appropriate scope and team size
Provides functional guidance and direction to Auditors and Technical Specialists
Coordinates updates to the Operating Quality Assurance Manual, when necessary
Develops and Administers training to qualify Auditors and Lead Auditors, when necessary

Provides strategic leadership or vision for quality assurance assessment activities. This includes advice to NOS management
Considered an industry expert. This includes leadership and active participation in external Nuclear Industry Evaluation Program audits
Employs a full range of organizational resources to ensure high quality assessment results
Promotes and implements changes to the NOS Department to improve department performance
Demonstrated experience to effectively lead people and implement solutions
Provides functional guidance and direction to Senior Auditors, Auditors, and Technical Specialists

Required

High School Diploma required
Must have the education and/or experience necessary to be able to obtain Lead Auditor certification (Regulatory Guide 1.146/ANSI N45.2.23- 1978)
Consulting Auditor (10 years), Senior Auditor (7 years), Auditor (5 or more years) of technical experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction, Operation, Maintenance, or Quality Assurance required
Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, and Power Point software required
Proven ability to lead projects required
This position requires up to 75% travel, including overnight stays to vendor locations and industry events
Candidates must have the ability to travel frequently
External Auditors must be able to obtain United States Passport for overseas travel

Preferred

A Bachelor's or associate degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, or Quality Assurance from an accredited institution preferred
Previous nuclear and/or quality assurance experience preferred
Previous experience or demonstrated ability to develop or implement quality assurance program elements preferred
Previous experience conducting assessment activities preferred
Previous experience in a customer oriented work environment preferred
Experience in the areas of performance improvement and human performance/behaviors preferred
