Responsibilities
Assistant Resident Engineer/ Resident Engineer
Construction inspection of IDOT, Tollway, county or municipal projects
Assist in the field inspections of roadway and utility construction including sewer system, asphalt and concrete roadways
Perform and review material testing of concrete, asphalt and aggregates
Complete daily construction reports, manually or electronically
Prepare As-Built drawings
Design assistance on highway and site development improvements, including roadways, site grading, storm drainage, water main distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, and other site utilities
Preparation of local, state and federal permit applications
Assist in the preparation of design plans, specifications and quantities
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
EIT certification desired, PE preferred
A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction and designing transportation and/or municipal projects
Experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer
Experience with MicroStation software
Preferred
Highway Technician Certifications preferred
