Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) Project Manager

Responsibilities
Provide project support and oversight of State government software development efforts
Monitor Scrum teams to ensure software development projects are executed properly
Provide oversight of software development activities related to enhancements and maintenance of enterprise software and make recommendations for improvement
Prepare and deliver reports and presentations related to the project and findings to client leadership
Provide insight on key Agile Discovery, Sprint, and Release activities
Monitor projects for risks and issues and report those to the client
Support and contribute to written weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports
Apply advanced thinking to problems with encouragement and support
Proactively conduct research into identified and potential client problems
Conduct deep review of vendor deliverables for the assigned functional scope area for completeness and correctness
Conduct risk assessments to help the client resolve technical issues and/or discrepancies with existing policies and procedures
Engage in team’s strategic discussions
Support the client and stakeholders in achieving project success
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area. A minimum of eight (8) years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Minimum five (5) years of experience in Independent Verification and Validation in a large and complex software development environment
Minimum three (3) years working in an Agile SDLC environment (Scrum, Kanban, Lean Software Development, etc.)
PMP Certification
Experience with enterprise software transformation, modernization, including migrations and integrations
Familiar with identifying and applying Information Technologies industry standards and best practices
Ability to work and meet deadlines independently as well as part of the team
Strong people and presentation skills
Have strong written and oral presentation skills and be able to present ideas in a simple way
Preferred
Preferred previous experience with hands on software development and/or testing
Experience providing consulting or advisory services to a government client or agency
Experience with all phases of the IT Disaster Management Cycle
Familiar with challenges associated with Cloud environments, governance, and compliance
