Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Financial Analyst to support their customer in Falls Church, VA. The role involves monitoring and controlling costs and schedules, performing financial analyses, and preparing financial reports.

Responsibilities

Conducts and documents financial analysis of areas as directed by management

Assists with financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control, documentation and project control

Evaluates and analyzes capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc

Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses

Documents revenues and expenditures and submits results to management. Advises management on matters, such as effective use of resources and assumptions underlying budget forecasts

Interprets budgets to management

Act as consultant to management on financial policies, procedures, and applications

May provide functional and technical direction to other staff members in areas of cost/finance

Originate purchase requests for contract services as needed

Transfer/allocate funding as directed/needed

Required

3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience

Client experience requirements: Between 0 to 6 years of relevant experience

Client education requirements: BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a relevant field + 4 years of additional equivalent experience can be substituted for a BA/BS degree

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Experience in earned value management (EVM) financial reporting is required

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude
