Responsibilities

Conduct patent and trademark clearance searches and provide risk assessments and strategic advice

Prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent and trademark applications

Represent clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board

Manage trademark portfolios and coordinate with counsel

Advise on copyright registration, enforcement, and licensing strategies

Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licenses, assignments, and NDAs

Support IP due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions

Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on matters involving IP rights

Qualification

Required

J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

8+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department with a focus on intellectual property

Demonstrated experience in patent and trademark prosecution, TTAB proceedings, and copyright matters

Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision

Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis

A high degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion

Organization and time management skills

Preferred

USPTO registration is preferred for candidates handling patent prosecution
