Responsibilities

Contribute to the development, evaluation, and enhancement of optometric education
Provide instruction and service in the professional program
Maintain a clinical practice for UMSL Eye Care and affiliated clinic partners
Serve as a mentor for student research

Qualification

Doctor of Optometry (OD)License to practice optometryInnovative instructional strategiesEvidence-based practiceClinical services experienceResearch translationCollaboration skillsMentoring skills

Required

Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree, eligible for or active license to practice optometry in Missouri
Experience with, or demonstrated potential to develop, innovative instructional strategies and technology
Expertise in an area of emphasis and contemporary issues in optometry and healthcare
Demonstrated experience in the effective dissemination of evidence-based practice and translating research into clinical care and education
Experience teaching, providing clinical services to, and collaborating with students, patients, and colleagues

Preferred

License to practice optometry in Illinois
Completed an ACOE-accredited residency
