Responsibilities
The CNP Technologist I functions in the neurodiagnostic laboratories performing electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials, Autonomic, and/or Nerve Conduction Studies
The technologists are responsible for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, providing a safe testing environment, and must demonstrate minimum competency, skill, and knowledge in neurodiagnostic procedural testing in the area of hire
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Graduate of an accredited institution for neurodiagnostic technology or 2 years equivalent neurodiagnostic tech experience
Computer skills required
Must have demonstrated communication, problem solving, and organizational ability
Within two years of employment, specific certification through ABRET - Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (R. EEG T., R. EP T., CNIM, CLTM and CAP); Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM; CNCT) and/or AAET - The Nerve Conduction Association (R.NCS.T.) is required in the laboratory of hire
The Registry Examination should be attempted as soon as the employee is eligible
Must have current certification in Basic Life Support
