Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of structural engineers, ensuring optimal performance, professional development, and project success
Oversee the full lifecycle of government-funded building or bridge projects, from design through to construction, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
Provide high-level technical leadership on structural design solutions for government infrastructure, particularly for buildings and bridges. Ensure adherence to industry codes and regulatory standards
Act as the primary technical point of contact for government clients, working closely to understand project needs, provide updates, and address concerns
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, construction managers, and other engineers, to ensure seamless project delivery
Maintain strict quality control processes to ensure that designs meet both technical specifications and government regulations
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with project designs and manage changes as necessary
Support the growth of the business by identifying new opportunities for government infrastructure projects, contributing to proposals, and strengthening client relationships
Qualification
Required
Professional Engineer (PE) License is required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on government projects, including either building or highway or bridge design
Proven experience in managing teams of engineers, including mentoring junior staff and overseeing project teams
Experience managing complex government infrastructure projects, ensuring that design, construction, and compliance meet required standards
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution
Advanced proficiency in structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, RISA) and a deep understanding of government regulations and codes for building and bridge design
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members
Strong analytical skills with the ability to approach complex structural challenges in innovative ways
Preferred
Knowledge and experience with government contracting and compliance
Experience in business development, including proposal writing and client relationship management
