Northern Tool + Equipment is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to spearhead their newly implemented injection and blow molding operations. The Senior Injection & Blow Molding Process Engineer will serve as the technical authority and strategic driver behind molding innovation, process excellence, and cross-functional collaboration while leading the development and optimization of molding processes.

Responsibilities

Serve as the enterprise-wide subject matter expert for injection and blow molding technologies

Architect and implement advanced molding strategies aligned with business goals

Lead cross-functional teams through new product introductions and process scale-up

Drive process optimization to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance part quality

Oversee tooling design reviews and recommend enhancements for manufacturability

Champion data-driven decision-making using statistical process control and analytics

Author and maintain high-level SOPs, SOCs, and technical documentation

Provide strategic input on capital investments, vendor selection, and equipment commissioning

Mentor and develop engineering and technician teams; foster a culture of technical excellence

Collaborate with design engineering to influence product development for moldability

Interface with customers and senior stakeholders to communicate project status and resolve issues

Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for complex manufacturing challenges

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and ergonomic standards across molding operations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Plastics, or Materials Engineering (Master's preferred)

5+ years of progressive experience in injection and blow molding manufacturing

Proven leadership in cross-functional project management and technical team development

Deep expertise in blow molding resins, tooling, and equipment platforms (EBM, multilayer, parison)

Strong command of Lean, Six Sigma, and PDCA methodologies

Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Demonstrated success in driving process innovation and operational efficiency

International travel required in year one (up to 50%); minimal thereafter
