Programmatic Control Systems Engineer (R&D Engineer 1)
Los Alamos National Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. The successful candidate will be part of the Electrical Support Team, developing and implementing designs, installation, maintenance, and support of control systems for various processes in the Directorate.
Responsibilities
Knowledge and experience with applying and demonstration of engineering design cycle principles: requirements gathering, design, and implementation, debugging, testing,and documentation
Experience with designs, completed installations, maintenance, or technical products
Knowledge and experience in the design and development of computer-based data acquisition systems, such as Allen Bradley / Rockwell Software programmable logic controllers(PLCs), SCADA,and industrial computers
Knowledge of NFPA 70,70E,and79
Demonstrated broad knowledge of electronics, instrumentation, and control-systems hardware and software
Excellent verbal,written,and interpersonal skills,including technical writing and technical presentations
Knowledge of distributed control systems and networking
Knowledge of control & data acquisition theory and instrumentation hardware
Qualification
Required

Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution related to the occupation combined with 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience directly related to the occupation
Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related science, 2 years job related experience, and 1 year of nuclear experience
This position will require 24/7 coverage, which could include working a shift/weekend schedule
Preferred
Electrical Safety Officer training is desired
Active DOE Q clearance and HRP Certified
Glovebox Operator (GBO)
