Responsibilities
Receive, analyze, and log new FOIA requests from the public via mail, email, and an online portal (FOIAXpress)
Identify and task the correct offices to search for records, then track and gather their responses
Analyze documents for information responsive to the request and redact legally protected information (e.g., personal privacy, law enforcement techniques) using Adobe and other tools
Use specialized software (FOIAXpress) to manage, track, and update the status of all cases from start to finish
Draft professional correspondence, including acknowledgment letters and final response packages for approval
Ensure all work is performed in strict accordance with FOIA statutes, regulations, and agency guidelines
Maintain detailed case files, prepare reports for leadership, and assist with archiving closed cases
Qualification
Required
Three or more years of FOIA Analyst experience
An Associate's degree or equivalent experience (in lieu of a degree)
Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, and Excel; Adobe Acrobat; Electronic FOIA processing tools (e.g., FOIAXpress, other case management systems); E-discovery tools
