Senior Scientist I, Internal Medicine-Endocrinology

Responsibilities
Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating overall project assignments
Manages all aspects of the lab including staffing, staff development, safety training and all applicable policies, laws, and regulations
Identifies and assesses feasibility and significance of research projects
Establishes research objectives and methodology, designs procedures, conducts research projects, analyzes, and interprets results
Research Scientists may submit training grants as Principal Investigator (PI), provided they have a faculty mentor
Research Scientists may submit equipment, renovation, or other facility/core enhancement grants as the PI
Research Scientists can write a research grant with the approval and commitment of the Supervisor and Chair
Publishes and presents research
Works independently First/Senior authored publications
Ensures proper training of Classified Research staff and Post Doctoral Fellows
Qualification
Required
Ph. D, M.D, D.O., or D.V.M in related field
six years of related experience with Peer Review Publications
