Visiting Assistant Professor - Electrical Engineering
The University of Houston is seeking a non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. The candidate will work with the PEMSEC Team to develop specifications for induction machines and control strategies for various applications.

Responsibilities
Work with the Power Electronics, Microgrids & Subsea Electrical Systems Center (PEMSEC) Team to generate a precise, short, and concise specifications and requirements document for the induction machine for various transportation applications
Evaluate the relevant tradespace of the induction machine-based generator system according to the requirements for various project
Work on the control strategies to satisfy the representative requirements of a given application
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. degree or equivalent when they start their position
Proven experience in designing field orientation-based controllers for both induction and permanent magnet machines
Experience working on PWM inverters and modular multi-level inverters for motor drive systems
Ability to generate a precise, short, and concise specifications and requirements document for the induction machine for various transportation applications
Ability to evaluate the relevant tradespace of the induction machine-based generator system according to the requirements for various projects
Ability to work on control strategies to satisfy the representative requirements of a given application
Research Statement, Publications, Curriculum Vitae, Cover Letter/Letter of Application
Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidates
Willingness to undergo a criminal history check
