Responsibilities
Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions to real-world problems as part of a team of engineers and scientists while under the supervision of senior engineering personnel
Prepare construction plans using CAD or Revit with input and guidance from senior engineers
Prepare complete plans and specifications to be part of construction documents
Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports
Perform hydraulic, geotechnical, and/or structural analysis and design calculations for dams and hydraulic structures including spillways, dam outlet works, diversion and check structures, measurement flumes, and other various raw water infrastructure
Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures
Collect data and measurements in the field
Observe and log test borings
Observe construction and perform materials testing
Qualification
Required
0-2 years of professional experience
Bachelor's Degree in Water Resources, Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or related field
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Positive attitude
Ability to multi-task
Strong work ethic and a desire for continual self-improvement
Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel, including assignments that may last several months away from the office
Ability to lift 60 pounds and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, enter trenches, climb ladders and work outside
Must possess a valid driver's license as driving is an essential function of the job
Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Preferred
Prior internship or professional work in a related field (i.e. geotechnical engineering, construction, civil engineering, etc.)
Master's degree
