Airframe Liaison Engineer

Responsibilities

Prepares and briefs CRs/CNs in front of Change Control Board (CCB) stakeholders
Provides dispositions for nonconforming production parts as the Material Review Board (MRB) engineer
Coordinates with various engineering groups such as Airframe Integrity Group, Material & Process, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering to resolve complex issues
Identifies root cause to engineering/manufacturing issues and works independently to resolve them
Expected to work closely with the production floor clarifying engineering drawing intent
Expected to support the production floor in a fasted paced prototype environment providing technical instructions through engineering redlines
Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
Performs other duties as assigned
This position is based out of Poway, CA and will require on-site support

Required

Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education
Backgrounds in Mechanical, Aeronautical/Aerospace or Structural Engineering desired
Experience in MRB
Experience and knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings with emphasis on composite lamination and airframe integration
Working knowledge of GD&T ANSI Y-14.5M
Experience using CREO Parametric, NX or similar CAD software
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

Preferred

Experience with LEAN manufacturing methodologies desired
Experience working with composite, metallic, additive parts, assemblies, and integration desired
Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment desired
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is desired
