Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of data-driven models and algorithms to enhance the underwriting process
Use AI to process unstructured medical data and incorporate it into our models
Automate processes using LLMs and agentic frameworks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, actuarial, and technology, to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation
Analyze large and complex datasets to extract actionable insights and support decision-making
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and machine learning
Mentor and guide junior data scientists and analysts
Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise reports and presentations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
8 + years experience working in Technology with focus on Data Science initiatives
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL
Experience using LLMs to build agentic workflows
Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred
Proven experience as a Data Scientist in the life/health insurance industry
Knowledge of life insurance underwriting processes and regulations is a strong plus
