Responsibilities
Work on building and scaling both the backend systems and onboard modules for the Routing team
Design microservices, optimize routing algorithms, understand road network graphs, build monitoring and analytics infrastructure, optimize deployment pipeline, and more
Work with product, strategy, and operations teams to design and build new user experiences, and define product strategy and roadmap
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience building and scaling realtime server-side applications
Experience working on large-scale complex algorithm problems, balancing correctness and performance
Proficient in C++ programming
Experience with a wide-range of databases, including relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL), non-relational (BigTable, Cassandra, Redis, etc), and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, etc)
Familiarity with RPC frameworks (gRPC, Thrift) and pubsub systems (Kafka, Cloud PubSub, Celery, etc)
Experience in training and inferencing ML models
Extensive experience working with cloud providers (GCP, AWS, etc)
Experience working with Docker & Kubernetes, or willingness to learn
Wide-range of technical skills and a passion for learning new technologies
Passion for making lives easier for developers and working on tooling for troubleshooting, debugging, and profiling applications
Ability to make the right tradeoffs between quick-and-dirty vs scalable approaches
Care about users and work closely with product and design to build the best product for consumers
Great communicator, regularly engaging with PMs, UXRs, other engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders on product requirements and designs
Impact-driven, caring deeply that work makes a significant impact on the lives of millions of people
Preferred
