They are seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer (PE) to lead the design and delivery of transportation projects across the region, ensuring compliance with IDOT standards and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
Lead the design of roadway, highway, and transportation infrastructure projects from concept to construction
Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports in compliance with IDOT or other DOT guidelines
Mentor and supervise junior engineering staff and CAD designers
Interface with clients, stakeholders, and agency representatives throughout the project lifecycle
Utilize MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and other Bentley products for design and production
Support or lead coordination efforts for permitting, utility coordination, and public involvement as needed
Ensure all deliverables meet internal and client quality standards and deadlines
Qualification
Required
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Illinois
5+ years of experience in transportation engineering, preferably with IDOT projects
Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and related Bentley tools
Strong knowledge of state and federal design standards, manuals, and guidelines
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (BSCE required)
