Staff Attorney (Family Law)
Atlanta Legal Aid Society is seeking a full-time Staff Attorney to provide family law consultations at various locations including the Fulton County Courthouse and DeKalb Family Law Information Center. The role involves advising unrepresented litigants on various family law matters without providing legal representation.

Responsibilities
Advising and assisting unrepresented litigants with completing pro se forms, but not providing legal representation
Advice areas include divorce, separate maintenance, legitimation, custody, visitation, child support, alimony, contempt, family violence protective orders, name change, birth certificate amendment, domestication, and temporary minor guardianship
Qualification
Required
Active member in good standing in the State Bar of Georgia
A minimum of three years of relevant legal experience (Required)
Strong work ethic and adaptability
Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening, and organizational skills
Ability to balance compassion and pragmatism
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a collaborative, hybrid team model, with an appreciation for diversity
Eagerness to learn and openness to feedback
Preferred
Demonstrated commitment to public service, participation in law school clinics or trial advocacy courses, familiarity with poverty law, and previous work with low-income people are strongly preferred
Proficiency in languages other than English is highly valued
